Ulfah Arts, UK and DAM Festival, Kosovo Presents

Heroic, historic, humorous a magical journey of musical storytelling and western classical music inspired by the traditional Arabic texts of the holy Quran.

This exhilarating production has been developed by Ulfah Arts, UK in coordination with British Muslim Women from five different cities and Classical musicians from the newest country in the world - Republic of Kosovo!

Internationally recognised master Storyteller, Alia Alzougbi will use her prowess in visualising words to narrate epic tales about famous women from Islamic history, interweaved with a mosaic of stories from the lives of ordinary British Muslim women. The storytelling will be accompanied by inspired music from three Kosovan music composers, who have designed and composed a classical piece of music to fit each story. This project is the first collaboration of its kind between a traditional storyteller and classical musicians, making it a truly unique experience.

Muslim Women Music Makers Music (mwmmusic) - 2010 is a music initiative by Ulfah Arts that puts Muslim women at the forefront in music making, innovating, collaborating, and producing pioneering music for all to enjoy. It is supported by supported by Arts Council of England , Birmingham City Council and the British Council.
