About Us
This project is lead and developed by Muslim Women in Britain brought together by Ulfah Arts, exploring the parameters of faith, providing alternatives.
Ulfah Arts has worked with Muslim women since 2005 in pioneering platforms for their expression. From developing women only events and projects to no music to mixed audiences using a variety of musical expressions, to be inclusive of all women however they practise their faith.
Ulfah Arts is a social enterprise that works to develop audiences, artists and community media projects for a diverse range of arts organisations and public bodies including theatres, museums, arts organisations, education authorities and health organisations. We develop projects that engage different faith groups as artists and audience members. This in turn benefits the community, engaging them in mainstream, wider society, giving them a chance to contribute to British culture. www.ulfaharts.co.uk
Ulfah Arts began attending the World Music Expo in 2007 where it decided this was the platform to develop this work. Since then we have identified partnerships across Europe and set up the Missing Voices Consortium.
