Muslim Women Music Makers Music (mwmmusic) is a campaign that puts Muslim women at the forefront in music making, innovating, collaborating, and producing pioneering music for all to enjoy.

Welcome to Hakawaytiyyah – the storyteller which is our latest production as part of our Muslim Women Music Makers - mwmmusic campaign, which was launched at the World Music Expo in 2008. After last year’s very successful pan-European live music tour, mwmmusic returns this year with Hakawatiyyah – the storyteller. 

This unique concert has been our most ambitious project yet, bringing together two artistic and cultural worlds in a seamless mix of western classical music and traditional storytelling.

This collaboration truly pushes the debate on Muslim women and music forward in an innovative way, creating truly an exciting and artistic product never realized in this fashion.

Our thanks to Muslim women and community partners from five UK cities who have enabled us to leave the legacy of this work with all Muslim women, no matter who they are and what they do.

Particular thanks to our funders who bravely support this work that is challenging in many ways and a very heartfelt thanks to the Artistic team of DAM festival, Kosovo and the four Kosovon artists who have proven that adversity of war fails to extinguish artistic excellence.
